Trying to stream from EasyCap with VLC

Postby Devianex » 15 Feb 2012 22:46

So far I have worked out every issue but one. I have a bar at the bottom of my capture screen that briefly displays "dshow://" over a scrambled miscolored image, and then the word disappears and I am left with just the scrambled bar. I cannot for the life of me figure out how to get rid of this bar. Below is a picture of what my screen looks like.

Edit: Oh yeah, I'm running the newest release of VLC, Windows 7 64bit, and I know it's not a problem with EasyCap because the picture is fine on Xsplit, but it the audio doesn't work out.

Have you tried different chroma formats from VLC?

I'm not sure what that means, but I'm willing to try anything. I'm very new to capturing so I'm just kind of teaching myself.

Click the Advanced options... in capture part. There is an option called Video input chroma format, try values like RV24, YUYV or UYVY.

YUYV worked! That's awesome, thanks so much! Last question, is there any way to save these settings so every time I go to capture it have all the devices and formats already there?

You can start VLC with chosen parameters via Command-line, .bat file or Windows shortcut. GUI itself doesn't remember stuff.
