VLC ASIO?

Hello everyone,

I have an ASIO capable sound card and sound system but I am confused on how I can enable it on VLC.

I searched around Google and unfortunately I either read posts that I can't understand nor have a resolution for the issue or I get results like "it's not supported since version 0.8.x).

Is there a way to enable it? Is it the waveOut extension?

Thanks in advance!

That's unfortunate :/

Anyway thanks for your response, I really hope you will support it in the future if possible.

Thanks again!

ASIO has to change its license policy before anything will change.

Meaning?

Many other free and non-free programs use it, like foobar - what's the problem?

I doubt it will ever be usable in VLC. WASAPI, on the other hand...

Yes, WASAPI would be great too.

But does this mean that all other programs that are able to use my ASIO card are illegal?

All GPL programs that have ASIO support and are distributed in binary format prolly violate some licenses. Is that legal or not, that is left for court.

That would work for Vista and 7 only, but it is a good idea.
