Catalyst Control Centre video settings have no effect on VLC

Whilst playing video on other media players (e.g. Media Player Classic), I have found that certain settings in CCC improve the video quality significantly. In particular, I really like the Dynamic Range and Color Vibrance.

However, VLC doesn't seem to be affected by the changes. Is there any way to make the changes work with VLC too?

They might work with Overlay video output (DirectX or WinGDI), but I ain't sure.

You're right, using DirectX fixed it :-).

However, I lose Aero when using DirectX. Although that isn't such a big issue since I'm not normally using Windows whilst watching video, is there any other way?

Not really, since VLC doesn't support EVR/VMR, and Ovelay is only usable with DirectX or WinGDI.
