Hı all,
thıs ıs my fırst post on thıs forum,
so ı hope ı've posted ın the rıght place.
I've only recently ınstalled VLC,
and have now realızed that
1. It has knocked out Wındows Medıa Player,
from beıng my default musıc CD's player.
I know that ı can through Tools>Preferences>Setup Assocıatıons,
uncheck relevant boxes,to make W.M.Player my default musıc CD player agaın,
however ı don't know WHICH BOXES TO UNCHECK to make that happen.
2. The sound of my musıc CD's wıth VLC as the default player,
ıs rather ınferıor to W.M.Player.
Anythıng ı could do to change that?
WINDOWS XP HOME SP3.
Thank you for any assıstance

1. That won't work. You have to uninstall VLC and reinstall without Context menu stuff.
2. It would help if you told us how the sound is inferior (like crackling sounds issue, not enough volume or something else).

When you install VLC, there is a context menu entry in installer, untick it.

You can try other audio output module in case Waveout works better

So to use Wındows Medıa Player as my default Audıo player,
durıng re ınstall of VLC ı need to sımply uncheck the 'Context Menu' entry,
what exactly wıll that do?
and how about the check on 'Audıo Fıles?
Uncheck that as well or NOT?
The lınk you provıded says (ın German)to uncheck the 'Audıo Fıles' check.
Thank you.

I only posted the image because you didn't find the context menu entry. If you don't want to associate VLC to audio files (like MP3, FLAC, etc.) then you can uncheck the audio files also.

Context Menu disabled won't add DVD and CD entries. Audio files is for actual files, like .mp3 etc.
