VLC 1.2 disable proxy for local net

I have been trying to test out the latest VLC (1.2pre4) and I have found that it now automatically reads proxy settings from IE settings. However it does not seem to honor the "bypass proxy for local network" setting. According to the docs, if your VLC proxy setting is not set, it will automatically use system settings. So, I have not found a way to disable the proxy without changing your system (IE) settings. Does someone know how to disable the proxy, or make it ignore proxy setting for local hosts?

BTW - I tried the old "--no-http-use-IE-proxy" option, and I get an error "command line options could not be parsed." So, I guess this is no longer an option...

That option was removed from VLC 1.2.0

Yes, I saw that: "Nobody is ever going to use this if it needs to be enabled." I guess they spoke too soon.

So, how do we fix this???

Is there another way to change this default behavior?

It would require code changes. I can open a trac ticket for this if you want it.

I have the same problem. As described here: viewtopic.php?f=14&t=97069
Would be great when you can open a ticket.
