I am not able to get the clone video to work on ver. 1.1.11. Does anybody have this problem?

Does Tools -> Messages (set Verbosity to 2) complain something when you enable clone?

Yes, the error:

main error: Failed to create video filter2 'clone'
main error: Failed while trying to append 'clone' to filter chain
main error: Video filter chain creation failed

Could you test with VLC 1.2.0? (VLC 1.1.x won't receive any updates)

where are u getting VLC 1.2.0? I got the 1.1.11 from the main page which I thought it's the lastest version. http://www.videolan.org/vlc/download-windows.html

Hi, I've downloaded VLC 1.2.0 pre1-20111107-0103 Twoflower and tested the clone video. It still not cloning the video for me. I've set the Verbosity to 2 (debug) and here are the errors:
main error: Failed to create video filter2 'clone'
main error: Failed to add filter 'clone'

huh,..it could be me not doing it right..do you mind posting the steps that you're able to get the clone to work?

Tools -> Effects&filters, then Video and last tab. Tick clone.

Yes, that works. I was doing the cloning in the Tools>Preferences>Video>Clone... and of course that doesn't work.
