Hi there,
is there any idea why VLC does not jump to start postion when using option --start-time=
example :
when trying to
vlc myfile.mpg --start-time=3600
the vlc starts playing the file from 2700 !!
is there clarification for these ?!

Bad timecodes in that MPEG file are most likely the reason for that. So remux the file with proper tool and try again.
