MKV files losing sync over time

Postby greger » 13 Nov 2011 11:59

I have ripped a DVD, and converted to MKV.

When playback in VLC hits a chapter point, the sound skips. It works fine in Windows Media Player, so the file doesn't seem to be a problem.

Output from the Messages window at the time of transition is this:

main warning: audio drift is too big (-125000), clearing out
main warning: mixer start isn't output start (-62592)
main debug: audio output is starving (187001), playing silence
main warning: output date isn't PTS date, requesting resampling (-42001)
main warning: buffer is 42001 in advance, triggering downsampling

This happens both if I just let the video play, and if I skip to right before the chapter point.
This is about 2 minutes into the file.

VLC version is 1.1.11

Any more information I should provide?

Remux didn't help, and nightly build made it worse.

Nightly builds of 1.2?
if yes: what is your file caching value? and could you please share the file?
