pulsing blur on playback

Hi
wasnt sure if this was os specific so posting here.update(im running windows so guess its windows specific..doh!)
when viewing a movie or any video on vlc, there seems to be a frequent slight blurring of the image every second or so.
This seems to be consistent with any movie file that I play.
im using vlc at the default settings on a dell precision m6400 with nvidia quadro fx 3700 card on win7 pro 64 bit.
has anyone else come across this issue and if so is there a solution?

it doesnt make the video content unwatchable but its one of those things when you have noticed it you keep noticing it.

Thanks

Does this happen with other video output modules?

Hi.

I tried the various video output modules. of all those that had a picture the problem persists.
A thickening of the pixels over the course of a second, which creates the blur pulse effect

Does Tools -> Messages (set Verbosity to 2) complain something when this happens?

Can you see the issue if you take a screenshot from the playback?
