Can someone confirm whether ATSC (digital tv) tuning is functional or not in VLC 1.2 nightly and Windows7?

Yep, I just tried 1.1.11 and it works well. I noticed the 'Capture mode' is different between the two ('TV digital' in 1.2 and 'DVB DirectShow' in 1.1).

weezelboy... Do you have streams set up with a playlist? ... we’ve been going back and forth for days on this (ver 1.11)

IIRC frequency numbers changed at some point, Hz<->kHz change so old ones either have 000 too much or not enough.

I need to set the channel with major/minor/physical channel numbers so ideally something like: atsc:// :dvb-major-channel=6 :dvb-minor-channel=1 :dvb-physical-channel:21. Unfortunately playlists are not an option for my application.

I gave up and just created custom strings for each channel:

Code: Select all

F:\VideoLAN\vlc.exe atsc:// :dvb-modulation=8VSB :program=3 :dvb-physical-channel=14 F:\VideoLAN\vlc.exe atsc:// :dvb-modulation=8VSB :program=1 :dvb-physical-channel=19
etc. and put them along the right side of my desktop. There are only 11 distinct broadcast streams in my market, so it wasn’t too onerous. I realize that will not be practical for most people who live in larger markets.

I never found a way to make the playlist work with atsc. Running 1.1.11 (The Luggage).
