how to connect to my UPnP-AV server?

I have a UPnP-AV server in my local network running. I can connect it without problems with my NP2900 hardware streaming-client and with the windows meadia player.

But how can I use VLC with it? Using the IP as URL doesn't work. How can I connect to my server with VLC to see his offered lists and play the music?

I don't understand what the question is but you should know that you have two IP addresses, local and public. Only public IP addresses can communicate via internet.

What about the internet? The internet is not the problem and it is not used.
The UPnP-AV is in my local network. And all clients are in my local network.

How can I use the VLC as a UPnP-streaming-client for my in-local-network-streaming-server?

At first I wasn't sure what UPnP-AV was but after looking into it I can safely say that vlc does NOT support UPnP-AV streaming. The UPnP-AV compatibility database would explain why wmp works instead of vlc http://www.upnp-database.info/listDevic ... pe=servers

In theory you can enable compatibility for it in vlc by building it from source but i don't think anybody has done so successfully http://wiki.videolan.org/Win32Compile

IIRC UPnP client support will arrive to Windows builds during when VLC 1.2.0 is released. Current Windows builds don't have any UPnP support.
