VLC misses start of song

Hello

I'm running v1.1.11 on Windows 7 and, strangely, it misses the first quarter of a second (ish) of whatever track I play (does it with MP3 and WAV - haven't tested any other formats). Of course, if the first quarter of a second happens to be silent it doesn't affect me, but some songs start bang on 0 seconds, so the beginnings of these tracks are chopped off.

It does it when I click on a music file in Windows to open VLC, but it also does it when VLC goes from one track to the next in the queue. If I try the same file(s) in WIndows Media Player it plays the beginning correctly.

Anyone have any ideas about what might be wrong here?

This still seems to be a problem on VLC 2.0.7 or perhaps I need to change some specific settings? I'm running Windows 7 and the hardware shouldn't be an issue (2.5GHz Dual core, 8GB ram). The problem is most noticeable on short sound clip files.

I have this problem to. I bought a Mass fidelity Relay ( Expensive Bluetooth Dac) my scenario is I have a Wdcloud Nas drive in my living room and all my music in Flac files on it. IM using VLC on a Imac and when i call up the song i want to play VLC will always blip the intro will miss around 2 seconds before it plays. Which over a period of time can be annoying. Glad I found this Forum as I thought it was me doing wrong, The new device works beautifully with Spotify.

For what its worth. I had the same problem with a Toshiba DVD player. Playing cd's, There was a software update which cured the issue.

don''t thin vlc likes anything to high bandwidth. I fixed this by going to advanced sound settings in win 10, click in device you're using, click properties tab, click advanced tab and make sure you're not above 44100 htz. i'm running 24 bit at 44100 htz and things are good

This will be fixed in the 4.0 release, this is a clock issue which triggers the resampler at the beginning of audio playback.

It still does this, and I'm on version 3.0.21 Vetinari, using Windows 10.
