dshow-video parameters rq'd

Postby americhanac » 21 Aug 2011 09:03

Hi all,

does anyone have a suggestion hot to get all possible combinations for "dshow-video" when executed from a command line?

I'm trying to set TV system to PAL on a dual system able video card that defaults to NTSC.

Operations attempted were up to *.inf level and registry modifications for default system yet it still defaults to NTSC (as drivers were ported to XP from 98 for BT848 card). I would like to have this scripted (no GUI, startup script calls bat file for stream) and change the output system to 24 fps, PAL.

If not possible, than I need help in how to read the VLC code for opening properties of a card during startup used in DirectShow GUI function. Not being a programmer it is somewhat difficult task and I need some guidance.
The output from GUI version in simple menu is different than both "Tuner Properties" as well as "Device Properties" when called from "Input/Codecs > Access Modules > Direct Show" checkmarks. When checkmark(s) is/are set I receive way to many options. Conclusion is that GUI is calling other function that I'd like to identify.

Many thanks!

QT4 GUI is calling the device drivers via DirectShow interface. AFAIK there isn't any way to save those settings from VLC side. You can adjust the FPS with

Code: Select all

--dshow-fps=<float> Video input frame rate Force the DirectShow video input to use a specific frame rate(eg. 0 means default, 25, 29.97, 50, 59.94, etc.)
