changing associations in preferences causes crash

Hello everyone,

I have run into an issue with VLC Media Player 1.1.11 running on XP SP3 in that when I select Tools/Preferences and attemp to "Set up associations ...", player crashes when I click on apply button. I am logged into machine as administrator so privileges should not be an issue.

Anyone else run into this problem?

Machine is Dell Optiplex GX520 with onboard video "Intel 82945G Express"

Drivers and OS are right up to date.

Mark

Hello everyone again,

Original poster adding more info to this thread.

Tried VLC Media Player 1.1.11 on more machines ... crashes on all of them.

Tried on Dell Optiplex 755 with XP Pro sp3 .... crash
Tried on Dell Optilplex 780 with XP Pro sp3 .... crash
Tried on Compaq Presario 910 with XP Home sp3 .... crash

Looks like we got a bug.

Just downloaded 1.1.11 for Windows, same deal here... when I try to set file associations in preferences it crashes after clicking "apply". The file types I'm selecting are currently associated with MediaPlayer Classic, running on Windows 7 x64, Intel Core2 Duo E7400, 2GB RAM.
