VLC player crashing problem

My VLC Player has been consistently crashing recently. I use VLC as a default player for my video files.
When I have VLC player open and playing one video, if I minimize that screen and then go to open another video file to be used in the same open vlc application, the program will crash. If the screen is not minimized though, it wont crash, and will play another video in the program just fine.
It never used to crash whatsoever before. I must have sent over 100 bug reports by now but after this last recent update the program still exist. It started about 2 updates ago. I wish I could have noted the update that started this problem but I'm pretty sure that's it. Only in the past 2 months or so.
What can I do to solve this?

Have the same problem. Very time I minimize VLC and the next vid in the playlist is starting VLC is crashing.
Waiting since months for a fix, but it didnt seem like anything would happen...
I tried to reset my configurations, but it changed nothing.
Is this a known bug?
OS: XP Home SP3
VLC: always the latest stable version ^^

Do the updates appear under system restore?

Now i use a new OS (Win7), just installed VLC and it still keeps crashing while playing a playlist and being minimized.
Same if it´s minimized and I open a new File.
Edit: Looks like the playlist must contain more than 2 files.
Info: Mostly I´am playing MP4-Vids.
Bug found on 1.1.11
OS: Windows 7 64 Bit
(But XP 32 Bit didnt work either... xD)
Same question: Is this a known bug? ^^

Well, I tried look under which conditions the bug appears.
First the system tray has to be disabled (Tools -> Preferences -> Interface -> Look and feel -> Show system tray).
Then open a vid, minimize, add more vids or open a new vid. However, if the playlist plays the next file it will crashing.
Unfortunately it doesnt work with all vids. For me it only crashed with vids in mp4 and avi downloaded on YouTube.
I will add more information if I find any.
Greets
Edit: Oh, if you have the system tray enabled, instead of crashing it will pop-up every time the playlist jumps to the next file. Not very handsome

xD
I was inaccurate. I mean the vlc main window is popup. The track notification was disabled.
Besides it only popup with these vid which would cause a crash. All other work fine -_-

Hello,
I'm using version 1.1.11
I have similar problem (crash close) but with no apparent specific event preceding the crash (no action, no playlist event)
I have 2 different PCs (Asus laptop T5550 CPU with ATI graphic, T8300 CPU with NVidia graphic) the first under Vista32, the last under W7 64 Ultimate, both in auto windowsupdate mode.
Crash happen when reading mp3 64kbps web radio or DVB-T (sd or hd) channel thru Cinergy T stick.
Already sent tons of reports when restarting vlc...
I, at least, wish if I could disable crash debug report popup when restart vlc, it prevents me using it as a wakeup device in the morning (win task scheduler)...

Does it crash with audio deactivated?
