VC-1 doesn't work when I enable system codecs?

Hi,

I would like the system codecs to take over for this VC-1 file which is in a mkv container. Windows Media player works with the system codec and others but when I try doing anything other than VLC's own codec for this file. It simply doesn't like it and I don't like the codec used in VLC for my VC-1's, the letterboxes are not properly black and yeah - useless.

If anybody could please help me fix this problem it would be great. Recently been playing about with K-lite and what I am doing works fine on Windows XP 32-bit. Just not on Windows 7 64-bit. Could be the upgrade to latest version which is causing issue - I haven't gone completely to diagnose all the stuff yet.

Any ideas would be helpful.

Edit: Went back to as far as 1.1.1... I guess its not that then.

Ok and that is just on my PC or VLC in general? How would I fix it?

It should happen with all Windows versions (DMO not working).
