Can VLC Snapshot file naming

Postby ServsUmbreum » 02 Jun 2011 19:18

Is it possible to name a VLC snapshot .jpg file according to the video being played? For example, I am watching a file name "Casablanca.mkv". When I take a snapshot I want the file to be named "Casablanca.mkv...'some predetermined suffix'". Is this possible?

PS. I know I can change the prefix in the preferences. However, I don't want to have to change it for each video that I watch.

Thanks.

I found this post during a google search.
However I'm a noob.

Can someone give me the command line to enter under:
Show settings, all, video, snapshot , video snapshot file prefix

I would like the file prefix to be the name of the video file, and the sufix to be the date snapshot taken.

Thanks to anyone who can help.
I will continue google searching.
