Jaggedy Edges

With some, but not all, of my videos, where there is motion, the edges of the object in motion have jaggedy edges. I tried all kinds of settings, but nothing so far works. Any help? Thanks!

Interlaced video? If so, use Video -> Deinterlace

Thanks, VLC_help. You made me diddle, and I found that automatic>discard for the interlace setting worked!
