VLC dual view slowly getting async

Postby LaUs3r » 23 Mar 2011 12:44

Hey guys,

I run a 24" displays as primary display (direct connection to the PC via DVI) and a LCD-TV as secondary (via HDMI: PC->A/V-receiver->LCD-TV). Now, usually I want to watch movies on my LCD. So I start VLC and move the vlc window from the primary display to the secondary (LCD) and active fullscreen mode. At the beginning video and audio are sync but after a while sometimes the video hangs/stutters a little and audio slowly starts to get async. Any ideas? GPU acceleration is on (well, at least I turned it on couple of VLC versions before and if the updates didn't change that it should still be activated).

My box is a Intel E8400 core duo, 4GB RAM, GTX480, OCZ Vertex2 SSD, OS Win7 32bit.

Any suggestions?

greetz

My guess: It's the movie? Is it happening with every movie?
Audio and video out of sync is a common issue of a different "path length" (digital signalprocessing takes longer than the analog one), but then you would notice it all the time.
Never seen the "drifting" behaviour you're talking about...

it's not the movie. I experience the problem some while now. But I think I only encounter that problem with hd-stuff (x264).
