For fast stop and go wrong freeze frame is shown

Hi,

if I start and pause a video rapidly several time successively and the playing time is shorter than about 1 second, than the previous freeze frame is displayed instead of the actual one. Immediately after stopping the correct freeze frame is displayed for less than 1 second and than VLC jumps back to the previous freeze frame. Starting playback again VLC jumps ahead again and continues at the correct position in the video. This is rather troublesome if one wants to regard a scene in more detail by fast stop and go.

This happens for all MPEG2 videos I recorded from TV. XviD and flash videos seem not to show this problem. Is this a known bug?

Hi j-b,

I don't find the place to download version 1.2.0 beta, and I don't know if it is a good idea for me to install a beta version. But you can try the short MPEG2 video contained in http://www.wolfgangbeyer.de/stop_and_go_test.zip (8 MB).

I have version 1.1.5 with Windows XP SP3 on AMD Athlon XP2800+ and 3GB RAM.
