Hi all,

I am trying to compile VLC on windows using cygwin.But I have end up with configure erros.Here are the steps followed for compilation.

1.Downloaded the setup.exe for cygwin & installed as per instructions.
2.Downloaded the source for VLC-1.1-.6 version. using git tool connection gets times out frequently.so downloaded manually.
3.did bootstrap from cygwin ./bootstrap
4.downloaded the required 3rd party libs contrib-20100616-win32-bin-gcc-4.4.4-runtime-3.17-only.tar.bz2 & extracted it.
5.use the Script for compilation as its mentione din wiki.videolan.website. below script is saved in configure.sh

--disable-mkv --disable-taglib --disable-zvbi --disable-dirac --disable-x264 --disable-fluidsynth
6.passed the command ./configure.sh .It gives an error c compiler cannot create executables


If basic ./configure command is passed it gives error configure error: -mno -cygwin requires


Please can some one help me in compiling the VLC source.Its urgent.

Do not use cygwin. Use MSys.
