[VLC 1.1.6] Optimal Settings

I searched google, but I'm not to be able to find a guide how to optimize the advanced settings in VLC. The pop-up in the program provides only limited information in VLC. Teaching myself the understanding of everything is to be a lifetime project, so I figured there must be a easier way, and that's why I'm posting here and now asking You what improvements you did to get better quality of your video/sound etc?

VLC takes but only 0-2% CPU playing 1080p (~98% free resources) is there anything i can do to improve/up the quality?

i suggest these options:

preferences:
video: deinterlacer automatic yadif 2x
input & codecs : use gpu acceleration

if u have a nvidia gfx
set color range from limited (16-235) to full dynamic range ( 0-255) in control panel
otherwise colors will be too light

left is limited right is full range

I get ~5% cpu utilization after the changes.
So this is it, there is nothing else i could change or improve?
Cool. Then i just keep to enjoy this absolute awesome media player!

PS. It's not much out there that work this well, you really outdone all competition (at least so far) VideoLanCrew, you have turned my media experience into pure joy!
Thank you so much :D
