Context menu missing on AVI files

After installing 1.1.5 I discovered when I right click on avi files, I do not have the usual context menu "open in VLC media player" anymore, I also lost it when I went back to previous version, context menu on other file format such as mp4 and mkv is all right. I tried reinstalling and made sure I clicked the Context menu during installation, still it failed to appear. Is there any way to bring it back?

You can edit registry manually.

HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT -> .avi and there are also shell\PlayWithVLC and shell\AddToPlaylistVLC for those.

I have found out whats wrong, I upgraded "Mediainfo" and for some unknown reason, it has highjacked avi files and also the context menu for avi files. I restored the file association between avi files and windows media player and the vlc context menu came back !!
