Subtitle Size in MKV

Postby Winnick » 24 Oct 2010 10:40

Hi Guys,

I hope you can help me.

I'm using VLC 1.14 and whenever I'm playing MKV files with embedded subtitles - I cannot change the size of these.
From what I've tried, none of the subtitles settings in VLC affects these - is this correct or am I doing something wrong?

When I change the font size in VLC - only the size of the text in the beginning telling me the name of the file I have started changes

You must restart VLC to apply the new settings.

Thanks - but I am aware of that :-)
I make the change - click save - shutdown VLC and start the file again - and I can see the text that comes up showing the name of the file - that changes in size.
But the subtitles that are in the MKV - I cannot change their size.

I don't have a separate .srt file - the subtitles are in the .MKV file

There are different formats of subtitles (others than srt), as many of them have embedded formatting. I'm not completely sure, but maybe you're not able to edit these parameters.
Is this a srt file (muxed into mkv) or another format?
