Can't play CDs in 1.1.4 The Luggage

Title says it all - I can't play CDs, I try any method to play CDs in VLC with the latest version and it just closes/crashes and when I open VLC again it tells me to send a bug report. It's been like this for a few versions I've installed throughout the releases in months and I thought I wouldn't have been the first person to report the bug. I'm running Win7 x64. I use any method to open the CD, not a separate .cda file. I use "media > open disc" method, same crash. I use "right click on CD drive > Play with VLC", same crash. Please help. Thanks.

Also img and iso sucks.
Have to rebooot computer after.

Well i'm glad it's not only me - I hate using WMP for CDs, And I prefer not to rip them lol. WMP is very ram wasting for me and VLC is very lightweight, shame about the CD problem. it doesn't have problems with anything else
not even HD movies.

it looks like if you don't select "Allow fetching media information from internet" when you install it might work, but you'll get no track info obviously.

Just tried it myself, and it works, CDs run fine from autoplay, from explorer, or opening within VLC- Open Disc, so the track info fetching part is obviously is what is causing the problem.

Where can I find "Allow fetching media information from internet" without reinstalling? I hope VLC fix this bug soon anyway.

Could be Tools-Preferences-Interface-Album art download policy? Not sure though, you may need to reinstall.

Tools->Preferences ->Interface
At "Privacy / Network Interaction" use dropdown and select "Manual download only"
...Havent tested it, but sounds like it should be it.
