VLC 1.1.1 not consistently honoring snapshot width setting

Postby retronaut » 01 Oct 2010 14:51

I am discovering that VLC 1.1.1 is not consistently honoring the video snapshot width setting. I leave my snapshot width and height set to 1024 and 0 respectively, and while snapshots taken from most videos are sized properly, snapshots from some videos are consistently stored in their native size. The problem does not appear to be specific to any format.

its not a recent issue, thats been going on since 0.9.9
vlc has never had a very good snapshot mode, its incapable of producing WSYWIG results and pretty much always has been.

Use VLC 1.1.4, where some snapshots issues have been fixed.
