VLC doesn't save XSPF playlists (since version 1.0.6)

Hello.
Since some versions ago, VLC refuses to create a XSPF file when I click on "save playlist". This bug was filed:
http://trac.videolan.org/vlc/ticket/3981
but surprisingly was closed by someone giving as reason "worksforme". I can't understand this because I have tested this bug in Windows and it happens since version 1.1.0 (version 1.0.5 is still OK). Furthermore, I checked VLC in Ubuntu 10.04 (version 1.0.6) and saving in XSPF format did not work neither. That's why I state that this bug started with version 1.0.6. I don't know if this is the best place to report it but, as I didn't find any post about it in this forum, I think it's good to let people know.
Thank you.

Could you provide some example URLs you have add to playlist?

First of all, sorry for the delay. I didn't notice your reply.
You ask me examples but I can say that regardless of the file on hard disk I drag to play list box, when I press Ctrl+Y to save play list, no XSPF file is created. In other words, irrespective of my playlist contents, when I try to save it to XSPF file nothing happens.
This annoying bug is extremely easy to reproduce, so you can check it by yourself. Obviously, something got broken in the jump from 1.0.5 to 1.0.6.
If you need more information and I can give it, don't hesitate to ask for it.
Thank you very much for your interest.

Works just fine in here with VLC 1.1.5

So open Tools -> Messages (set Verbosity to 2) and try to save, messages should complain.

OK, I think I've found out the context to reproduce the bug.
I downloaded the portable version of VLC to make tests. When you told me that it was ok for you, I thought "What's the difference between your test environment and the mine one?" Perhaps changing language interface... and BINGO!!.
I've tested VLC portable with different languages for interface and it created xspf file correctly in all of them except -guess what- with my language interface: SPANISH.
So this explains why some people said this bug didn't exist: you need to set Spanish language for interface to make the problem show up.
Please recheck this issue after setting spanish for language interface and restarting VLC to make the change take effect. Then tell me what happens.
Thank you again for your support.
