Toshiba Camileo s20 AVI at asus-eee-pc-1001px with WinXP

Postby micmit » 01 Sep 2010 02:44

I tried several modes for this compact HD camcorder ( full HD 30fps , FH 720P 30fps, WVGA 60fps ) . None of AVI(s) recorded is properly played in VLC 1.1.4 on ASUS EEE PC 1001px with Windows XP. Combination of these consumer devices seems to be quite common, and perhaps , someone found appropriate settings to play Toshiba AVI properly. The problem manifests itself that for default settings image is still , though handle on horizontal slider is moving , and for some reason though recorded in a wide format it is shown as 3:4 with black vertical gaps. Trying different Video settings Display Device - DirectX and so on , unchecking accelerated video output ( overlay ) gave some improvements which is kind of jerky video progress. Media Player Classic with K-Lite codecs full installed gives better results , but still 3:4 instead of expected wide format.
