slave 0 EOF - What does it mean?

Postby jhb50 » 12 Aug 2010 17:38

I have a .ts file that plays correctly when no subtitle file is present but fails to play when a subtitle file is present. I am somewhat desprite to get this working so I tried remuxing the .ts file to .ps using Videoredo and captured logs for both.

The .ts without a subtitle file opens and plays:
------------------------------------------
main debug: `file:///D:/Azureus%20Completed%20Downloads/Vancouver%20Winter%20Olympics/Olympic%20PreShow.HD.ts' successfully opened
main debug: Buffering 0%
-----------------------------------------

The .ps with a subtitle has a similar log, handles some garbage at the front of the file and then plays it with subtitles displayed:
-----------------------------------------
main debug: `file:///D:/Azureus%20Completed%20Downloads/Vancouver%20Winter%20Olympics/Olympic%20PreShow.HD.mpg' successfully opened
ps warning: garbage at input, trying to resync...
ps warning: found sync code
ps debug: we found a length of: 573239333
ps debug: we found a length of: 573416001
main debug: looking for decoder module: 33 candidates
avcodec debug: libavcodec already initialized
avcodec debug: trying to use direct rendering
avcodec debug: ffmpeg codec (MPEG-1/2 Video) started
main debug: using decoder module "avcodec"
main debug: TIMER module_need() : 1.047 ms - Total 1.047 ms / 1 intvls (Avg 1.047 ms)
main debug: looking for packetizer module: 21 candidates
main debug: using packetizer module "packetizer_mpegvideo"
main debug: TIMER module_need() : 1.739 ms - Total 1.739 ms / 1 intvls (Avg 1.739 ms)
main debug: thread started
main debug: thread (decoder) created at priority 0 (input/decoder.c:304)
main debug: Buffering 0%
------------------------------------------------------------------------

And the .ts file with subtitles has a similar log and also opens the file successfully but then issues this slave 0 EOF message which makes no sense, since it had also previously reported that it had successfully opened the subtitle file, and then terminates playback.

So what is the source of this error message and failure when its a .ts but plays fine as a .ps?

------------------------------------------------------------------------
