When opening an MKV file, I get the following error message:

"No suitable decoder module:
VLC does not support the audio or video format "undf". Unfortunately there is no way for you to fix this."

and the audio channel is dead.

Similar files are playing fine for me with VLC 1.1.2.

Please, post the full messages log with verbosity set to 2.

And also post a sample of the beginning of the file, say the first 20-30 MB.
Use DGsplit and read here about how to do it:

It plays fine on my wxp machine with vlc 1.1.2 too.

I was still using 0.9.9 before because 1.0 had a terrible appearance and no skins I liked. Therefore I did not upgrade.

Thanks for the help!
