Hi!
I'm experiencing a problem playing DVDs, the images are as this one:

The images are "jagged"
I think the problem started with VLC 1.1.1
Is it only my problem?

Are they PAL DVD's ?
Does the playback give you the impression of going back and forth ?

Hi!
Yes, region 2
Back and forth? Nope

Does it help if you're using one of the deinterlacers from the Video menu ?

Ok... it seems I solved the problem selecting "automatic" in "deinterlace" and "discard" in "deinterlace mode"
However, if I well remember, I didn't get that problem in the previous versions of VLC
But how can I set those options as default?

So what is happening if you select BOB or Yadif 2x as the deinterlacing mode ?
Is it better or worse ?

But how can I set those options as default?
In the Preferences -> Video

Actually, it's better if I select "discard"
However, when I make a screenshot, the image is always "jagged"

Ok... now the stupid question (ihihihih!): to set those options as default, I go in preferences -> video -> filters
I see it's already selected "discard" in "deinterlace mode", but it's not the same option in the menu up, under video -> deintarlace and deinterlace mode, or I'm wrong?

Tools -> Preferences (Show settings: All) Video -> Filters and tick Deinterlacing video filter from under Video output filter module (NOT FROM UNDER Video filter module!). Then Video -> Filters -> Deinterlace and choose the default mode. Remember to press Save to save VLC settings and restart VLC after that to make sure changes are enabled. Ok...
but, I'll be dumb, under Video -> Filters -> Deinterlace, under display there are discard, blend, mean, bob, but not default!

Just Video -> Filters, there are selection boxes for filters.
