file enqueing

Hello,
I upgraded to VLC 1.1.1 recently and notice that eventhough I did not select the option to enque files in the playlist when only one instance is allowed, VLC always enques files in the playlist instead of playing them right away when i open them. Is there any way to work around this?
Thanks,
Jan

How do you open the files? (drag&drop, double click, right click and select some option)

Does it help if you remove %appdata%\vlc folder and then set that option again?

Does same happen if you start playback from command-line with using something like
Code: Select all
"C:\Program Files\VideoLAN\VLC\vlc.exe" --started-from-file c:\something\audio.mp3

It actually works when I start it from command line as you told me. Is there a way to make it work from within explorer...?
I upgraded to version 1.1.2 btw; but still the same problem...
thanks

Could you check from registry what parameters VLC uses when it tries to open e.g. mp3 file? (search vlc.exe and you should find shell\Open\command)

Hi, well the problem was that i didnt set my file associations in vlc... although they were set to play with vlc, the associations were not set default in windows, so for some reason instead of playing the file it would just enqueue it in vlc...
when i installed vlc 1.0 i did not delete my previous vlc settings so i assumed that the file associations would just be left unchanged; also cos i m using iconsets and each time i reset the file associations with vlc everything turns messy... is there a way to just keep the file associations when installing a new version of vlc?

VLC installer doesn't remember or check those.
