Used VLC to trim MOV video, now no audio. Help?

Postby dv8mad » 26 Jul 2010 07:52

I have HD .MOV files as that is the native output of my digital camera. I tried converting them to AVI files first because I have an AVI trimmer, but it made the quality terrible.
Then, I found that I can simply use the record button in VLC to record only a portion of the video I want. It output into an AVI, but the quality was very close to the original, so I was pleased. However, there is no audio.
Playback of the original .MOV file does have audio so I know it can't be a codec or speaker issue.
Anyone have a suggestion?

Sorry if this is a dumb or repeated question. As you can see, I joined just to ask this question, but I did search the boards first and could not find a solution. Thank you!
