activate hotkey

in the list of available hotkeys there is one called "activate"
default value = unset.

what is this used for, once assigned, please ?

sorry, I'm still not getting it. can you give me an example of how this feature could be usefully applied please.

would it for example trigger the a-b loop button on toolbar, (but only if mouse was postioned on that button already ?)

there are some things I'd like to do from a wireless keyboard ( or from a remote that emulates a keyboard ) but they don't have hot keys - so I can only do them with a mouse:
the a-b loop is one example. another is to bring up the full screen controller when in full screen ( too see how long elapsed/remaining ). will tha activeate button help me with these issues ?

It is more like OK for DVD menus.

ah - well that could be useful - iasked in another thread for help with operating dvd menus without a mouse.... I will do some testing
