Hi All.. I am new here to this forum. Please accept my apologies in advance if this is a repost, or the answer to my question lies in the pages of these forums, but I can't find the answer! I'd be really grateful if someone can help me..

My comp spec:
Intel Core 2 duo 2ghz processor
3gb RAM
32 bit operating system
Nvidea GeForce 8400M GS

I just downloaded a 4gb HD file which is a 1hr video of the first episode of the new series of True Blood. When playing the file the video is extremely jerky and pretty much un watchable. My guess is that my CPU/Graphics card can't handle processing this HD file. I am wondering how to solve this problem? Maybe some new drivers? Or settings in VLC to reduce the frame rate??

I would be really grateful if somebody could point me in the right direction please.

Thanks for the reply VLC Help, but unfortunately that hasn't fixed the problem. If it is relevant and of use, the file is 'HDTV x264-Core2HD' and .mkv

Really bugging me as I have been trying to fis this for ages, I have multiple films and programmes I can't watch which all have the same problem.. Anyother suggestions you have would be most welcome.

You could try different video output modules, but I would guess they won't really help.

You are really beating your head against the wall here. I had the same problem with my core2 duo 7200 system 2x2ghz. It just does not have the cpu power to decode. If you open Task manager or the CPU Meter iin Desktop gadgets you will see the cpu goes to 100% when you get those glitches. My solution before I upgraded to an I7 and an HDTV was to convert to DVD using ConvertX2DVD which allowed me to record a DVD at 9Mbps which is the DVD spec maximum, which could then be played on my PC or SDTV with outstanding quality. Only problem is that each DVD will only hold about 40 minutes of material at that rate, but its quality is comprable to HDTV broadcasts that come in at about 12Mbps when the HDchannel also caries a couple of SD shows or what you get on a HDCable channel. My HD library consists of many recorded Over the air HD broadcast streams. I would appreciate if you would PM to me your source for getting you HD material. I'd like to expand my library now that my cpu can hack it.
I also would like to know if you have subtitles. If there are closed captions in your ts stream then I have the programs to extract them to .srt subtitles which I need.
