Copying DVD file to hard disk VLC 1.1

I'm using win7 and have just loaded VLC 1.1. It works fine to play audio and video on my laptop. So well that I decided to put my set of Firefly DVD's onto my hard drive to be able to view on trips etc. I found a copy command in VLC and it worked just as you would expect it to. It was slow but worked fine for the 1sr disk. The problem is I can't find it again. IIRC it was under the Media tab then one of the OPEN (File, Disk or Folder) commands then down at the bottom of that page if you clicked on Play it gave you a choice to copy. I can't make it show up again.

AFAIK there isn't any Copy option, but there are Stream and Convert options.

Diik how or where I found it but either I'm going crazy or there was a straightforward copy command that worked just as you'd expect. If I made it up somehow does either the stream or convert allow one to put DVD files onto a hard drive so they can be read as if they came off a DVD?

Both stream and convert allows you to rip movies to hard drive. But there are better tools for this job available.
