I want to watch on a HD video 1920x1080. But the video is very jagged. Do I need to have some codec installed for that?

I am using VLC 1.0.5

Your monitor resolution is smaller than 1920x1080? If so, does it help if you change video output module?

Yes I am using a smaller resolution. I have changed to different outputs but the results are not better.

Other suggestions?

Not really, since that must be VLC core bug then.

I thought I would post here rather than start a new thread since the heading sounds a little like what I was experiencing:

I had updated to 1.1.0 after dealing with the problem mentioned here. At first I was quite pleased with it, but then started noticing what looked like a few scrolling lines of 'interference' from time to time... not long lasting or frequent, but definitely there. I knew that I had not experienced these under 1.0.0 ... in the end, for the time being I have gone back to 1.0.0 and the problem no longer occurs.

It's not interlacing btw... I have been using and loving the deinterlace feature under 1.0.0 already!

I am not tech savvy enough to have any idea what may be going on here; but I will 'watch this space' and in the meantime will use 1.0.0 very happily :lol:

Video -> Deinterlace ->
I tested every deinterlace option. The video also stops for some seconds and and plays for some seconds and so on.

What do I need to do?

I don't think there is any easy workaround since AFAIK swscale doesn't work correctly in Windows builds.
