Unable to install without necessary permission (admin pw)

Hello!
I recently just got a new laptop with Win 7 64bit, and I've never used Win 7 before, only vista and below.
I downloaded the latest release of VL, tried to install and I couldn't because of the following:
So I clicked on John and tried to install and it said I didn't have administrative priveleges, which I don't get... so I tried Admin with my password and that didn't work either...
Now, I haven't seen this prompt before and I've been installing lots of programs. I don't have a user account called Administrator, but I remember in previous versions of Windows it was the default user....so I'm not sure how to either upgrade my account "John" or use this "Adminstrator" account, or figure out it's password. I just got the laptop yesterday so I haven't played with all the settings yet.

I found out what the problem was. I guess VLan has made sure to integrate itself to make prompts through UAC in Win7. So with my UAC set to "Never Notify" I couldn't install because VLan wants to make sure it isn't installed on a computer unwanted I guess. So I changed the UAC back to one level higher and it worked. It said the same thing" I don't have priveleges" then a UAC window popped up to ask if I wanted to install, I clicked yes, and then it worked...
How strange right?
Can someone add this as a sticky or a tell me to how to send it to the programmers so they are aware of this problem? I'd hate for people not to be able to use their favorite (and the best) video player!!!

How do I set the UAC one level higher. I am unable to install the latest VideoLan update on Windows 7 . I have not set up Administrator privileges on my computer, and don't wish to do so.

All you have to do is right click the executable file and select 'run as administrator'. That easy.

Thank you so much Flotime, it's amazing how many complex answers to problems are given that are still a puzzle to the layman...like myself... who only have a limited knowledge of pc terminology...well done for a simple and effective solution !

I really appreciate the click on executable and run as administrator answer. It was exactly the answer I needed. (I went through the pain of registration to post this)
