Buffering? and Graphic EQ/Spatializer

Postby ka3jjz » 26 Jun 2010 03:55

I'm running the 1.1 software under Firefox 3.6.4 on a Compaq notebook with 1GB ram and xp/sp3. I seem to be having a lot of trouble with what appears to be a buffering issue. I can play a station (from Reciva, for example) for a minute or so, then it goes quiet, and the display shows some sort of buffering in the time box in the bottom right. It then plays for a few seconds, buffers again, and so on. Very annoying.

Also it appears the spatializer doesn't work at all; it did in the previous version. A similar issue exists with the Graphic EQ; sometimes it works, other times it's totally dead.

Thanks for some very interesting freeware...Mike

VLC isn't freeware.

You have URL for non-working stream?

I always thought VLC Media Player is freeware (it's so listed on CNet), and in any case I'm not sure what that has to do with anything...anyway..

I often play streams from https://www.reciva.com/ before loading them to my wifi radio. It's not 'non working' - it's exhibiting very odd buffering issues that weren't an issue in 1.0.5 - and it's just 2 functions - the Graphic Equalizer and spatializer - that seem to not be working (or working erratically) anymore. These were both working in 1.0.5

Thanks Mike

I'm gonna have to agree with Mike on this one...

Anyway,

I am also having the issue with the spatializer not working at all. Interestingly enough, I am also using xp sp3.

Graphic Equalizer and spatializer (enable) also works sometimes but doesnt hold settings unlike the video effects (image adjust) which sets and holds settings generally till the next session. Sometimes not. Is this a normal occurence to turn off from session to session or a bug?
Also running Windows XP SP3

Freeware isn't same as GPL.

If you enable EQ or Spatializer from preferences, it should be on always. The settings you do to Effect and Filters aren't stored anywhere.

Ok. That makes more sense now. Thanks for clarifying.

Yes, we understand how to to turn it on but it simply does not work. There is no difference between the sound when it is on or off, while in 1.05 there was a noticeable difference. I rely on the spatializer to enhance most of my music, so until it is resolved I have reverted back to 1.05.
