Hi everyone,
I downloaded vlc 1.1 and still have application crash when launching. the same pb I posted on
viewtopic.php?f=34&t=76833
Can this be related to libQt4plugin.dll ?
Can this be related to font pb (I am running japanese Vista with french language installed)?
It's a pity because I was really looking forward new features (sync) of this version...
Thanks for any help !

You tried to remove %appdata%\vlc folder?

yes I did... and problem was not solve...
I also tried to replace libQt4_plugin.dll in 1.1 with a previous version of vlc (1.0.6) and vlc didn't start.
I uninstalled vlc completely, deleted all files I could find after proper unsinstall with option "delete cache" activated. Then reinstall : same problem.
as Blu28 found out on 1.1RC version forum, if I launch directly a video using vlc, application start playing the file with the same error message above. Clicking on the message cause the app to crash.
As I explained on this forum, windows log shows (in french sorry):
Application défaillante vlc.exe, version 1.2.0.99, horodatage 0x4bfda104, module défaillant libqt4_plugin.dll, version 0.0.0.0, horodatage 0x4bfda10f, code d’exception 0x40000015, décalage d’erreur 0x000037c2, ID du processus 0x1488, heure de début de l’application 0x01cafd7d768fe937.
I wonder if it can be a pb close to :

thanks for your help!

"Application défaillante vlc.exe, version 1.2.0.99, horodatage 0x4bfda104, module défaillant libqt4_plugin.dll,"
This is 1.2.0-git
Please delete manually the complete VideoLAN/vlc install folder

thanks for your answer j-b !
This sounded indeed obvious... but I didn't saw it... thanks a lot.
What I tried :
1 - I uninstalled VLC normally and delete folder videolan/vlc folder
1 - I found out that another version of VLC was installed through a french program called AdslTv... I uninstalled everything...
2 - I deleted c:\windows\prefetch\ files related to VLC...
3 - I reinstalled VLC 1.1
but then : same pb with right version :
Application défaillante vlc.exe, version 1.1.0.0, horodatage 0x4c1eb4b8, module défaillant libqt4_plugin.dll, version 0.0.0.0, horodatage 0x4c1eb4c0, code d’exception 0x40000015, décalage d’erreur 0x000038df, ID du processus 0x1074, heure de début de l’application 0x01cb151095308eb2.
??? I got crazy ? what's going on ?... seems that I'm the only one to have this pb ?

You have some custom Windows theme engine installed?

Delete %appdata%/vlc too

when unsintalling vlc, %appdata% doesn't contains a vlc folder anymore...I guess the file is correctly deleted by the uninstaller...
I have no special windows theme installed.. I was using a vista theme modified... but.I already tried to come back to default vista theme and even xp theme... and it didn't solve the pb.
But I have a "japanese version" of windows vista where French language pack was installed...I have sometimes pb with fonts who appears in japanese letter instead of roman... that can be the issue ?

no, this is a sony laptop with a touchpad... and nothing connected...
and previous versions of vlc worked perfectly...
Is there a light way to debug / check libqt4 dll file ? or vlc ?
thanks for your answers anyway ...
