Avermedia 23855 - Selecting audio pin from composite input

Hello,
I have an AverTV Hybrid Express Slim card in my notebook running XP SP3.
When using the software Aver MediaCenter both video and audio work great, but if I want to use vlc for streaming/live-editing (making pal-60 from xbox look acceptable) there's no audio.

If I use (audio capture device set to none, because there's no Avermedia AUDIO Capture device recognized, only modem line #0 record, realtek hd audio input, default and none):
:dshow-vdev=AVerMedia 23885 Video Capture :dshow-adev= :dshow-config
I can choose between inputs for video (tuner, composite, s-video), and then vlc suggests the paired audio line-in (or tuner-in). So far so good, but when I select it there's no sound, only video.

Manual setting:
:dshow-video-input=1 :dshow-video-output=0 :dshow-audio-input=4 :dshow-audio-output=1
doesn't help either.

Setting the audio capture device to default doesn't help either.

In "Volume control" nothing is set to mute. My sound card's Realtek audio input choices are Mic Volume and Stereo MIx (both of which don't work with vlc).

I assume a certain setting is missing, because composite audio works splendidly with Avermedia software. Maybe it's worth noting, that vlc gives me no video when Aver MediaCenter is running, so running both programs simultaneously for both audio and video won't work :D

I'd appreciate any help,
Marcin

If VLC doesn't list the audio capture device, VLC cannot use it. This is known limitation.
