Windows media player is normally my default mp3 player. I recently installed VLC 0.8.6i (the last version that runs on win-98) and it seems to play the first track of CD's that I download from the net (these are MP3' format) but not the other tracks. WMP plays all tracks just fine, and a program called "MP3 Checker" finds no problems with any of the mp3 files. I started a debugger window and it is saying the following when I try to play the other tracks:
libdvdnav: Using dvdnav version 0.2.0cvs from http://dvd.sf.net
libdvdread: Using libdvdcss version 1.2.9 for DVD access
libdvdread: Cound not open (file_name.mp3) with libdvdcss.
plus a few other lines.
The files are on my hard drive - not my DVD drive. Why does VLC think these are video or DVD files?
