I've never had VLC turn off the monitor after playback, until now, I just reinstalled Windows a few days ago, and VLC was one of the first apps I reinstalled, now after watching anything when it finishes playback it turns off the monitor, and I can't figure out how to stop it from doing so. It's starting to get on my nerves.

You mean monitor goes to powersave mode or that Windows crashes?
Anyway, try different video output module
