Revisiting stream

Each time I use VLC to listen to internet radio, even though I pretty much always listen to the same station, I find it necessary to get on the net, navigate to the radio station's listen page, copy the "http://.........pls" address to the clipboard. Open VLC. Navigate to Media\Open Network Stream...paste the ulr. And then click “Play.”
Surely there is an easier way. This clueless old grandpa has fantasized that, were I proficient in programing I might put all this repetition into one keystroke.
Fantasies aside, could one of you more advance users clue me in on how I might streamline this process?

If the URL doesn't change, you can create new shortcut to desktop which opens the URL with VLC. You can create copy from existing VLC desktop shortcut and edit it (right click and properties) and go to Shortcut tab and then paste the URL after vlc.exe" section in Target field.
