VLC Media Player stopped working

Postby matt2010 » 23 Mar 2010 13:24

Logged my computer on today and for some reason VLC has stopped working.
When I try to play a file I get the sound, but no visual, although occasionally I get a red flash across the screen.

I tired re-booting my com and that had no effect.
I tried re-installing vlc and that had no effect.

I have noticed that now when I first try to play a file i get symbol above vlc saying Asus Splendid video enhancement software, which I am fairly sure was never on my com before.

I assume some windows/asus update that has been installed is conflicting with me playing files.

Are there any way to stop this problem

regards

Matt

tried this and its still not working.
it appears the problem is the same with my windows media player classic.

on closer inspection the file is playing, but it is so dark that it can hardly be seen.

I have not installed anything or changed any settings to cause this problem

Yes it will. 64 bit Windowses can run 32 bit binaries without issues.

You have changed video playback settings from your display adapters control panel?
