Deinterlace and Windows size

Hi all,
I'm a newbie to VLC but already a committed fan!
A couple of questions... Using VLC 1.0.5 Goldeneye

1) Having set the default Deinterlace mode in Tools/Video/Preferences to Blend, it does not recall it as the default next time I open VLC which is a pain, am I doing something wrong or is there another method I can use to force it?

Tried using a startup of.... "C:\Program Files\VideoLAN\VLC\vlc.exe" --deinterlace-mode=blend
But it still does not work, it will only allow me to set it at run time (right click.....)

2) If I stretch the window of a playing DVD (not full screen) - at a chapter change it reverts back to the default size, arg.... is this how it's supposed to work or can I fix it?

BTW This is the same under XP Pro SP3 and Win7

Regards
Richard

Thanks for the reply, unfortunately neither option works for me, it has to be "blend"
Are you saying its a known bug, in which case is it on the "to be fixed" list?

Richard

For point #2, a solution exists on Windows or Linux (qt4 interface) with vlc1.0 or higher

in Preferences (first panel), modify the following parameters :
- uncheck "Resize interface to video size"
- select "Complete" as display mode

Make sure to stop and restart vlc for these parameters to take effect.

Beware, the two parameters are required. Just unchecking the first parameter is not sufficient.
