Streaming avi from PC >> Dreambox, need help with settings

I would like to stream movie files like .avi and others from my PC to my Dreambox DM600S with Gemini image using VLC 1.0.3. I´ve searched wiki and know-hows, but the problem is that they are all more or less outdated because they are referring to older versions of VLC, and i cant really find the corresponding settings in the new 1.0.3 version.
The configuration of VLCF plugin on the Dreambox is OK, but i cant get it to run properly from my PC. Could anyone give me (or point me to) a brief instruction on how to accomplish this?
