DVB scan in Windows

This may be useful...

Using 'scan' with the relevant parameters in Ubuntu produces a channels.conf file which can be used to start vlc in a linux terminal with the command 'vlc channels.conf'. This allows you to watch dvb, viewing the Playlist shows the available channels.

If you copy the same channels.conf file into your Windows vlc installation folder and open a command prompt window from that folder, you can similarly start vlc from the command prompt using 'vlc channels.conf' with the same result.

If you read the whole post, using the Ubuntu created channels.conf file in Windows does allow you to view dvb channels as stated.

yes, but what I mean is that the vlc scanning part is not yet available on Windows.

Yes, I'm aware of that but you're missing the point - that's why I did the scan in Ubuntu and copied the channels.conf file to Windows. You can then use the same channels.conf file under Windows to view dvb channels via the Playlist.
