Why was NetSync removed

Hello,

I'm just wondering why the NetSync module was removed (from what I can tell, only from the Windows version).

I need it for multi-file, multi-computer playback (video wall, but each screen is on a separate computer playing a separate file; need the files to stay in sync).

I've looked at the following articles already...

I'm trying to use 0.8.6 to do this (the last Windows version that had NetSync), but no luck so far.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you VideoLAN community.

P.S. Yes, I would really like to use Linux, but other requirements of this project preclude its use :(

I tried to search for vlc-devel post about removal, but I didn't find any.

Thanks. Well, if the official documentation page is up to date, then it should still be there...

Perhaps I came to this conclusion as a result of both a) not being able to get it to work and b) someone posted on another thread that it was removed.

At this point perhaps what happened is that it was assumed because it was removed from the settings in the GUI, but might still be accessible via the command line?

AFAIK it isn't compiled for Win32 because command-line help doesn't display netsync options.
