How to 'fix' player screen size?

Vista 64bit / VLC 1.0.1
I would like VLC to retain it's size on the screen until I change it, regardless of the content being played. This way I can race through my video selection process. Is there a way to do this? I think VLC Media Player is a GREAT software, by the way
